I am fully committed to making and performing music, even if the dead pan audience makes me want to stick my mic in my eyes socket and run around shrieking in mere attempts to gain their love and attention.

Fear not, I have miles and miles left in me that keeps me driving down the independent road of could be successes and near misses!

I wake up every morning, rise to the day and I  keep my sanity by reciting into the bathroom mirror…

“you are a good person, you work hard and will meet your dream one day, even if it takes selling your soul yet once again at the crossroads!”

Did you tweet it?  Facebook it?  Invite all your friends?   Endlessly remind and nudge people to please “LIKE”me?

Check, check, um check.

People must get so tired of all the invites, tweets and please click here to vote…

But if you don’t convert your 20th Century mind into the 21st…you will get swallowed up by all the media savvy people who have converted.

It is absolutely pertinent to be more than just a music maker these days.

Not only are you a performer but you are also a roadie, an agent, a manager, a web designer, a publicist, a record label, a songwriter and a shell of human!

Once you are all of these, then maybe,  just maybe will you get some attention from some people who have the means to make a difference to your career.

Until then  I will continue to mercilessly taunt you into “LIKING: me.

Bloody battered knuckles, crass and angry curse words, furrowed brows and gnarled lips.

This is the regular order of emotions during a weekly packing session of loading and unloading the Honda Civic.

The show does not begin when mics are turned on and the tubes in the amp are warm, no no my friends.

The grind…the grind is before annnd after every gig.  A constant effort of lifting, sifting and ensuring that each piece of equipment is packed in its distinct

position or it simply will not fit.  Gnashing gums and teeth ensues!

Needless to say…you know that GMC Van you have sitting in your driveway since 1995?  CAN I HAVE IT?

Orange Cone brain is the only way I can fully describe how I feel.

The Wire Awards were held last night at the Market Hall Theatre in Peterborough.  The show highlighted the best of the best in the local musical community.

I am a proud member of this do it yourself or stay in bed kinda mentality that is a steadfast idealism here.  Book your shows, play em and play em well is the motto.

I am pleased to announce that I received the Female Vocalist of The Year Award which made me feel super fantastic!

I accepted my award with grace followed by a mad hatter speech about being poor…but loving it.

I have a huge special thanks to give to Denis Goggin for being by my side for every triumph and fail there is to be had in this business.  His style and musical capabilities are instrumental and pertinent to the music that I am creating.

Thank you so much to any of you who believe in what I am doing….even just a little bit!

Sandwich as big as my face!…We were cutting costs by gorging ourselves with bread, meat and veggies

This here was the first photo I took of our journey to Moncton…..17 hour drive folks…..might as well be beautiful….

I have just arrived back from the ECMAS in Moncton and I had a number of positive occurrences and some that made me scratch my head and ponder where did all the misfit rockers go?

I experienced the panel discussions and mixers. I played and participated in the jam-packed evenings full of live music held a various venues and the seemingly nightly attempt to get to bed before 4:30am.  Each morning I awoke to yet another attempt to clean myself up and cure my red and puffy eyes.

Onto to the daily bright and day lit conference where you are trying to leave a good impression everywhere you go and with everyone you speak to.  It took all of my might to ignore the nagging need to jump out the nearest window.

My favorite moment was when Frank a member of a band from Montreal called The “Ins and Outs” spontaneously jumped on stage while we were in our last song and proclaimed in a heavy French Canadian accent, “I want to play with choo” and then proceeded to grab two broken drums sticks and put the beat to the music.    Thanks Franky!

The contacts we made on our journey are irreplaceable and the necessity of attending this conference as an East Coast musician is paramount.  The who’s who of the who’s who crowd will be smack dab in the middle of the event and from toe to ceiling there are relationships to be forged.  I had a great time and I most assuredly learned a lot of new information that will help equipe me for the next stage in my career.

The biggest lesson I learned is  “EAT MORE FRUIT”.

Also my band mate Doug Hewie is up for best drummer!

We are going to be continuing the rock two-step at one of our favorite clubs to play the Black Horse in Peterborough.  We consider this our home club and are very happy to part of that community.  Come drink, eat and dance!

Plus Greg is a hilarious bar tender…fried pickles on a plate!
